Australia gain slight upper-hand with Pujara scalp

For over half of the opening day of the series, both India and Australia played high quality Test cricket, hardly producing any unforced error. But the hosts could still claim a slight upper-hand having got rid of an obstinate Cheteshwar Pujara shortly before the Tea break.

Pujara took as many as 148 balls to hit his first boundary. It was a testament to good bowling as much as it showcased his now-trademark patience. Stringing together two partnerships that consumed 107 balls and 191 balls with Mayank Agarwal and Virat Kohli respectively, Pujara was the bedrock of the Indian innings that showed a lot of patience.
